> "Knowing Scripture" by Dr. R.C. Sproul
Dr. R.C. Sproul "lays out the basic guidelines for correctly understanding, interpreting and applying Scripture, using time-tested principles from Scripture to show how to find the true meaning of its contents." This class is for both beginning and long-time Bible readers.

Chapters include: Why Study the Bible?, Private Interpretation, The Science of Interpretation, Literal Interpretation, Literary Forms, Reading the Bible Existentially, The Historical Narrative, The Explicit and Implicit, Parallelisms, Scripture and Culture and Principle Versus Custom.

> Radical Together
Do you believe Jesus is worth abandoning everything for? How does/should the Biblical Gospel affect the individual Christian?

In a world of urgent physical and spiritual need, Gospel-believing, God-exalting men and women don’t have time to waste their lives pursuing a "Christian spin" on the American dream. What happens when the believer abandons all this world/life has to offer? What if this was done together in a community of like-minded individuals (a.k.a. church)? What happens, or can happen, when we apply the revolutionary claims and commands of Christ to our community of faith? What would it look like to be a community enjoying God’s grace in the Church while seeking to demonstrate God’s glory to the world around us?

In this class we will address these questions as we read and discuss David Platt’s book "Radical," pour over the Scriptures and pray for one another and the body at Chatham.

> The Triune God: The Incomparable Christ
"What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us. Without doubt, the mightiest thought the mind can entertain is the thought of God, and the weightiest word in any language is its word for God. That our idea of God correspond as nearly as possible to the true being of God is of immense importance to us. I believe there is scarcely an error in doctrine or a failure in applying Christian ethics that cannot be traced finally to imperfect and ignoble thoughts about God. It is my opinion that the Christian conception of God current in these years is so decadent as to be utterly beneath the dignity of the Most High God and actually to constitute for professed believers something amounting to a moral calamity."
-A.W. Tozer, "The Knowledge of the Holy"

Some of our elders will open up the Word of God over the next three quarters, leading a study on each member of the Godhead. Come, learn and worship.

Coming classes in this series:
• "The Mysterious Spirit," Spring, March 4-May 27
• "The Unfathomable Father," Summer, June 3-August 26
