What a great time of the year! We are reminded to be thankful in Psalm 100:4, "Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name!" We are reminded of the greatest gift of all, salvation through our Savior, Jesus the Lord, in Luke 2:11, "For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord."
Are you planning to spend time together with your family this Christmas season? I know our family truly enjoys the holidays because we get to be together and to worship the gift of our Savior. I am thankful for my family and my Chatham family.
It was so good to spend time with 11 families at Meramec State Park this fall. About 40 people joined us for a great weekend of hiking, caving, eating together and worshiping on Sunday in His great creation. Hopefully we can do this again next year.
Another time that Chatham came together was for our annual Chatham Thanksgiving Dinner. We had over 210 people who ate together and then gave thanks for how the Lord blessed us in the past year. I must thank all the people who worked to set up the dining area, to cook the turkeys and prepare the food, for the decorations and for planning the music and worship time. If I start naming everyone, I am sure to leave someone out. So I must just say a big "thank you" to all who participated. If you missed the dinner, you missed a blessed time with our local fellowship. Look for additional opportunities to meet with your brothers and sisters in Christ this Christmas season.
I want to express how much I am encouraged by the body of Christ that meets at Chatham Bible Church. I encourage you to get more involved, whether that is just coming to events or looking for ways to participate. I can’t think of any better way to get to know others at Chatham than to get involved with the different ministries, Life Communities or fellowship times that are planned.

I am always open to suggestions for getting the body of Christ together. Please feel free to call or e-mail me with your ideas.
